Running for Freedom is a partnership between The Peace Room in Boise and the Idaho Justice Project to launch Inner Peace Training, a trauma informed program with practical, heart centered tools for women who are incarcerated, preparing for parole, or transitioning back in to the community.
Beginning in March of 2026, Jenny Stinson has run a series of endurance races, which will culminate in a 100 mile marathon in Tulsa at the Route 66 Annual Marathon Event, honoring the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and the courageous journeys of women rebuilding their lives after system involvement.
Jenny joined the board of the Idaho Justice Project after witnessing the life-changing benefits of Reiki among incarcerated women in Idaho’s prison system. She’d become dear friends with a woman who reached out for information about Reiki training, and through their friendship, Jenny gained a deeper understanding of the challenges women face when transitioning from prison back into the community.
Her friend’s experience in the Idaho prison system opened Jenny’s eyes to the profound impact that kindness, support, and community can have; not only on the lives of these women, but on the communities they return to. This awareness inspired Jenny to become part of a growing movement of enlightened individuals who recognize the value these women bring to society and the transformative power of supporting their journey home.
Jenny is raising $20,000 to support the Inner Peace Training Program in partnership with the Idaho Justice Project, a non partisan non profit organization working to improve the criminal justice system in Idaho.
