Hestia’s Philosophy
Hestia News promotes Conscious Living
Through the harmonious integration of body, mind, and spirit one embodies a healthy and whole individual.
Why am I here?
Why does it matter?
How do I come home to myself?
How do I show up for others?
Hestia News is a monthly community publication & ever evolving online presence, sharing stories & experiences related to conscious, holistic living that make Idaho, and specifically the Treasure Valley unique. Hestia News connects readers with the people, businesses, services, & experiences that create an authentic, healthy, holistic way of life.
Hestia News remains rooted in holistic living and the practitioners who offer alternative approaches to health. From Reiki to chiropractic care to transpersonal therapy and beyond, there is a growing interest in exploring ways of caring for ourselves that extend beyond the traditional medical model. We want readers to discover the value these practitioners bring and to better understand the many paths available to support a full spectrum of holistic living.
Hestia News takes a more organic approach to connecting people with the businesses and resources in our community. The publication has an earthy, artistic spirit, because we feel art and storytelling is much more enticing than purely informational content. Readers are invited to visit the website for free downloads including art, puzzles, coloring pages, and more. We invite practitioners and business owners to share their journeys, the work they do, and ways they give back through community involvement.
2025 was a year of awakening…& when one is in deep trouble, one starts to pay attention.
When was the last time a stranger said, “Hello.”? Well hey, when was the last time your neighbor said, “Hello.”?
When was the last time someone held the door for you…or you held the door?
Or the last time you shook hands with somebody, shared a kind word with someone you met in passing, had a civil “argument”? I feel people are getting weary of the lost connections; the fear of the unknown.
You can’t water the roses, if you’re standing on the garden hose.
I feel that every person & every experience is meant to lead us toward our purpose, & at times that can be hard to understand or accept.
In Zen philosophy, ACCEPTANCE is the first step towards understanding…and that can be hard to accept!
